No no. What i am saying is i think it is just a trick of the eye that is making us think it is too long. If the image background wasn't a rectangle, but was a circle then i think it would look in proportion.
Also, if the background was a circle, then when the image size i reduced then it wouldn't look so tall.
Anyway what i was trying to say is that i think it looks fine the way it is.

During the last six decades, Cliff Richard has charted many hit singles, and holds the record (along with Elvis Presley) as the only act to make the UK singles charts in all of its active decades (1950s–2000s). According to his website, he has sold 250 million records over the course of his career.

Okay - best shirts I can find are at R120 per shirt for GM short sleeve; and R130 per shirt for the GM 3/4 sleeve.
The Grey Nicholls weighs in at R140 for a short sleeve.
I haven't asked about embroidering a design yet - and I'm not sure how good it will look with the small font in the motto - but we can try and it shouldn't be too much more. The guy at the store says he can get it done for us.
I'm going to ask for myself at least. Could I get an indication of who would want one of these?
Edit: spelling. aaarrgggghhh.

I'm way ahead of you. I've emailed the bloke and asked for a comprehensive quote for each element of the "operation".
The "operation" consists of these parts:
"shirt"
"embroidered logo"
"printed logo"
"name on back"
I await his response. I also await multiple posts which some people may be offended by - but which I like to see as casual flirting.

From the supplier:
I'll also suggest that he could put a sponsorship logo on the front, for a reduction in charge. That might work if I get enough response from the guys here - but it may not, so let's base the order on that not happening.
I'd guess that the best option is as follows:
GM Premier's + Printed logo on the front only @ R130-R135 per shirt.
Quite expensive. I've asked for a price on printing that logo in just the one colour, and I'd guess it would be a lot cheaper than the embroidery.here are the prices for cricket Shirts:
Admiral Cricket Shirts:
Budget Shirt @ R 75.00
Moisture Management Shirt @ R 120.00
Moisture Management Shirt - piping @ R 150.00
(Crm/Navy, Crm/Mar, Crm/Grn)
Gunn & Moore Cricket Shirts:
Premier Shirt @ R 126.00
Premier Plus - piping @ R 141.00
Teknik - piping @ R 192.00
embroidery onto left breast: @ about R 10.00 per logo.
printing the logo will depend on how many colours are wanted.
printing the names will be very expensive, as each time the screen is changed their is a charge,
so you're looking at about R 150+ per shirt for names on the back.
all the above prices include VAT. and are subject to availability.

If I could be permitted to throw in my 2c worth (or R135) at this point,
I think it would be better to get an embroidered logo -- would just be much cooler imo, and less likely to come out in the wash. R10 is not exactly all that much more to pay if you're already spending R135 odd on a shirt (which doesn't really sound all that expensive to me...)
The reason I'm making this comment at all, is that I would srsly dig to have an OCC shirt -- I would be playing if I wasn't sitting halfway around the world in a country where cricket means annoying, noisy little insects...
Of course I won't be expecting you to ship a shirt all the way to the netherlands for me. I'll see what I can arrange in terms of paying you for the shirt, and getting my dad or someone to collect the shirt from you once they're ready...

True that - it has been mentioned that the embroidered version would look better by more than one person. My only real concern is that the text in the ribbon may be unreadable.
And I'm sure we would work something out. I may be travelling into Amsterdam sometime this year - and therefore may even be able to bring one in with me for you.

I don't know where you guys shop but i think R140 isn't THAT expensive for a T-shirt. This is the reason i haven't bought new clothes in a number of years but think you will find a 'billabong' or whatever t-shirt would be about that price.
Embroidery is the only way. I think i may want more than one shirt. Plus we should get a couple extra in case we get new players on a specific day they can use the 'whore' shirt(s).
Anyway i would like at least 2 embroidered (sp?) shirts. But can they make up a sample so we can see what it looks like with embroidery (sp?) before we bulk order?
I am excited about this.

Yeah - okay I'll do the following.
I'll mail Dale with a request for the embroidery on a small bit of material. I'll send this along to the next game (assuming I get it in time).
Once agreed - I'll ask for just the one shirt, and then organise a time to show it to who ever wants - I'll take payment upfront when you order - not that I don't trust you guys, but I don't trust you guys.

Okay - I have a sample of the embroidery.
The colour cotton isn't a great match. And the right side of the shield went a bit lopsided - probably because the sample was done too quickly.
Also the size is too small for the text to be embroidered in.
Other than that - it is perfect. I'll bring it along on Sunday, so you can all ooohhh and aaaahhhh and then indicate if you would want a shirt with it on.
As indicated initially - upper end of the price range will be R140.
